Dr. Kuo-Chen Chou is the founder of Gordon Life Science Institute. He is also a Distinguished High Impact Professor and Advisory Professor of several Universities. Professor Chou has published over 510 papers in the fields of computational biology and biomedicine, protein structure prediction, low-frequency internal motion of protein and DNA and its biological functions, diffusion-controlled reactions of enzymes, as well as graphic rules in enzyme kinetics and other biological systems. Maria Vittoria Cubellis graduated in Chemistry from the University of Naples and obtained the PhD in Biochemistry. She is professor of Biochemistry and Bioinformatics at the University "FedericoII" of Naples.

Her recent research interests are focused on pharmacological chaperones for the treatment of rare diseases and in particular on the prediction of mutations associated to Fabry disease which are responsive to drugs. She is also trying to extend the approach with pharmacological chaperones to other pathologies, such as disorder of glycosylation type 1a, a disease for which there is no cure at present.

Dr. Deodutta Roy joined Florida International University as a Professor in 2004 and as a founding Chairman he established a new Department of Environmental and Occupational Health. Dr. Roy received both his Master of Philosophy (1980) and PhD (1984) in Life Sciences from the Jawaharlal University, New Delhi, India. Dr. Roy is a prolific scholar and researcher, having published over one hundred peer reviewed articles, book chapters, monographs, and two patents, and has trained 15 doctoral students and numerous postdoctoral fellows. Since last 24 years, his research program has been continuously funded through grants from the American Cancer Society, US National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Defense (DoD), or Veteran Affairs. Dr. Roy has served on a variety of research-related advisory boards and review panels, including NIH, DoD, the Susan Komen Foundation, Miami VA, and the Massachusetts Public Health Breast Cancer review panels. Dr. Roy is also on the editorial boards of nine scientific journals.

Dr. Roy’s ongoing research is focused on identifying biological pathways and networks contributing to the susceptibility of cancer and neurodegenerative diseases with the goal of identifying suitable drug targets and potential therapeutics.

Costas Iliopoulos is Head of the Algorithms and Bioinformatics group at the Kings College, London. He has completed his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Computer Science, University of Warwick, Coventry, England. He is the Director of M.Sc. programme. He has published 200 papers and serving as an editorial board member for the Journal of Discrete Algorithms and Journal of Computer Mathematics and Combinatorial Computing.

Iliopoulos’s research interests include Design and Analysis of String Algorithms, Algorithms for Molecular Sequences.

Elena Papaleo received her PhD in 2006 and did her postdoctoral works from 2007-2009 at the Department of Biotechnology and Bioscience at the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy) in the group of Prof. Luca De Gioia and Prof. Piercarlo Fantucci. She was then appointed Adjunct Professor in Computational Biology at the University of Milano-Bicocca from 2010 to 2012. Afterwards, she was senior Post-Doctoral Researcher in the group of Prof. Lindorff-Larsen at the Department of Biology of the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) from 2011 to 2015. She has been Visiting Researcher at many international institutes including the group of Prof. Salvador Ventura at the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (IBB, Barcelona, Spain) and the group of Prof. Francesco Luigi Gervasio at The Spanish National Cancer Research Center (CNIO, Madrid, Spain). In August 2015, she joined as Group Leader of the Computational Biology (CBL) Laboratory at the Danish Cancer Society Research Center (Copenhagen, Denmark). She has authored more than 50 scientific papers as main or senior author and she is Academic Editor of PLoS One, Frontiers in Molecular Biosciences (Nature publishing group), PeerJ and Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling.

Her research works deals with molecular modelling and simulations integrated with experimental data and network theory to the study structure-function relationship in key cancer proteins, as well as on the analyses of high-throughput sequencing and –omics data from profiling of cancer patients.

He is a Professor Emeritus since October 2007 . He was a Director of Scientific Computing Center at Ain Shams University (1984-1990).He is a Professor of Computer Science , since 1989 at Ain Shams University, Egypt. He has been involved in more than 400 international conferences and workshops as a keynote speaker, member of Scientific Program Committees, and Organizer and Session Chair. He is a member of many national and international informatics associations. He is a member of the editorial boards of many internal journals in the areas of ICT , Bio-medical Informatics and artificial intelligence. He has published around 350 papers in refereed journals and conferences.

His research includes: intelligent computing, knowledge-based systems , data mining , knowledge engineering , bio-medical and health,informatics, e-government, intelligent e-learning and artificial intelligence technologies.

Roumen Kountchev is a professor at the Faculty of Telecommunications, Department of Radio Communications and Video Technologies at the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria. Prof. Kountchev has 342 papers published in magazines and proceedings of conferences (72 international); 15 books (7 international); 45 book chapters; 20 patents (3 international). He had been principle investigator of 38 research projects (6 international). At present he is a member of Euro Mediterranean Academy of Arts and Sciences, President of Bulgarian Association for Pattern Recognition; Editorial board member of: Intern. Journal of Reasoning-based Intelligent Systems; Intern. Journal Broad Research in Artificial Intelligence and Neuroscience; KES Focus Group on Intelligent Decision Technologies; Egyptian Computer Science Journal; Intern. Runsheng Chen, Principal Investigator at Institute of Biophysics, CAS, is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and an academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences. Prof. Chen is a member of Human Genome Organization (HUGO), a member of the biomacromolecule group of The Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA), and a member of the bioinformatics professional committee of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP). Prof. Chen is now the General-secretary and Vice president of Chinese Society of Biophysics, and has published more than 130 papers in SCI.

Chen is one of the pioneer scholars developing the researches on theoretical biology and bioinformatics in China. For more than thirty years, Prof. Chen has led his group to perform a series of systemic researches in the field of bioinformatics, since 2001, Prof. Chen has rapidly expanded his interest to the investigation of noncoding RNAs, two widely used noncoding RNA databases (NONCODE, http://www.noncode.org/, and NPInter, http://www.bioinfo.org/NPInter/) have been established and updated periodically; in addition, by developing Rnomics technology, including RNA library construction and custom-microarray-design etc., group of Prof. Chen has identified thousands of long noncoding RNAs associated with tumorigeneisis.

Jie Guo has completed her PhD at the age of 27 years from Beijing Normal University and postdoctoral studies from Institute of Botany, the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is an Assistant Professor at Institute of Botany, the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2011. She has published 7 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as a reviewer for many top international journals, including “Journal of Theoretical Biology”, “New Phytologist”, “Scientific Reports”, "Journal of Systematics and Evolution" and "Genomics Proteomics and Bioinformatics”.
